Edelgard has a dignified, high-minded, solemn air about her, and she coolly evaluates her surroundings and those around her before she acts.

Edelgard is the fourth daughter of Emperor Ionius IX, and a princess and heir to the Adrestian Empire, and a student at the Officer's Academy in Garreg Mach Monastery. She is also the house leader of the Black Eagles.
Edelgard had a less than ideal childhood. Born in Imperial Year 1162, she grew up witness to the debilitating illnesses of her other siblings. In Imperial Year 1171, at the age of 9, she fled with her uncle, Lord Arundel, to safety in the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus during the Insurrection of the Seven, in which a group of nobles led by Duke Aegir stripped her father of much of his power. She returned to the Empire three years later.
In 1180, she arrived at Garreg Mach Monastery to complete her education, and was resolved to reclaim what her father had lost. Within the school year, she asks the students of the Officer's Academy to hold a reunion five years later on the eve of the monastery's millenium festival. She becomes Emperor after concluding her studies.

Edelgard cannot actually swim. This is due to her fear of the ocean, especially during the nighttime. She's afraid that she would get washed away and drown.
She sometimes feels entitled to things and acts rather spoiled, though she's not doing it on purpose. She really can't tell she's being arrogant sometimes.
Edelgard's sleep schedule isn't consistent. She stays up late reading things or training. She believes that if there is available time, it is best to use it productively.
Is probably more attached to the female professor than the male professor.
She absolutely hates failure. Edelgard is a perfectionist and is careful to not have any flaws in how she presents herself and the things she does.
A very private person. It is difficult for her to speak to anyone about her issues and aside from what she says upfront, no one really knows too much.
She sometimes has nightmares. Her sleeptalking is more likely to show up when she's having a nightmare.
She has a sweet-tooth. The only reason not many people know is because she's rather disciplined about it (especially thanks to Hubert.)

Edelgard and Dorothea get along with each other rather well. She finds herself seeking the songstress's company often, even seeking wisdom at times. Her day can always be brightened by Dorothea's presence; nothing beats that charismatic smile.
